Matthew is a British tenor currently studying towards an MA in vocal performance at the Royal Academy of Music with Richard Berkley-Steele. Matthew is a Leverhulme Arts Scholar and an approved artist on the Josephine Baker Trust scheme.

Prior to his MA, Matthew graduated with a first-class degree in French, Italian and Business from the University of Kent with a year spent at the Université de Neuchatel in Switzerland.

In his first year at the Royal Academy of Music, Matthew has participated in masterclasses with Freddie de Tommaso and Lucy Crowe as well as appearing in The Royal Academy Opera’s production of Ariodante. He has also regularly performed as one of the Royal Academy of Music Soloists as part of the most recent Purcell: Resounding Shores Project.

Outside of the Academy, Matthew is a Young Artist with ‘Le Foyer des Artistes’ and a selected artist on the Glyndebourne Academy and Glyndebourne ‘Opera Lab’ schemes.
