Young Artists Hughes & Modoni Secure Prestigious LPMAM Scholarships for Turandot Masterclass and Production
The London Performing Academy of Music (LPMAM) has awarded three prestigious scholarships to young artists Hughes and Modoni, recognizing their exceptional talent and dedication. These scholarships will enable them to participate in the upcoming Turandot Masterclass and Production, slated for December 2024. The awards were granted based on their outstanding performances during the Belcanto Bootcamp held in November 2024, under the expert tutelage of renowned Professor Nila Masala.
The scholarships, which include a full scholarship, a half scholarship, and a 25% scholarship, reflect the high regard in which Hughes and Modoni are held within the LPMAM community. Their journey towards operatic excellence will continue in the intensive Opera Studio, organized by LPMAM, which will culminate in the London debut of Puccini's Turandot at Conway Hall from November 30th to December 6th, 2024.
The Turandot Masterclass: A Gateway to Operatic Success
The LPMAM Opera Department has meticulously designed the Opera Studio to provide an immersive experience for aspiring opera singers. With a limited intake of 36 students, the program offers a rare opportunity to train under the guidance of world-renowned soprano Chiara Angella and baritone Silvio Zanon, renowned professors steeped in the Italian operatic tradition, with ties to legendary figures like Luciano Pavarotti, Magda Olivero, and Giuseppe Scandola. Their mentorship promises to be transformative for the participants, providing deep insights into the nuances of the Italian Opera technique and repertoire.
The Opera Studio will focus on enhancing the students' understanding of Italian Opera technique and repertoire, with all roles in Turandot available for training and casting. The rigorous selection process will identify up to two main casts, two cover casts, as well as minor roles and chorus members for the production.
A Launchpad for Future Stars
Participation in the Turandot Masterclass is more than just a learning experience—it's a launchpad for future operatic stars. The best students from the Opera Studio will be awarded opportunities to perform in LPMAM's International Festival, with planned performances across the UK, Switzerland, Italy, and beyond in 2025. Additionally, these top performers may receive scholarships for LPMAM's Vocal or Opera Course, as well as the chance to secure a debut record deal with Master Chord Records, a leading UK classical record label.
A Promising Future
For Hughes and Modoni, these scholarships represent a significant milestone in their burgeoning careers. As they prepare to embark on this intensive training and performance journey under the guidance of Chiara Angella and Silvio Zanon, they are poised to make their mark on the operatic stage. Their participation in the Turandot Masterclass and subsequent debut in London could very well be the stepping stone to a successful and celebrated career in opera.
