Kaishun is a Korean Chinese pianist who embarked on her musical journey at a young age, receiving extensive training in both China and Japan. At 16, she relocated to Japan, where her passion for music transcended language barriers, demonstrating her belief that music can open doors to any corner of the world.

Inspired by Professor Koichi Yasui at the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, Kaishun developed a keen interest in German Lieder. Following graduation, she made the difficult decision to pause her studies and worked in the airline industry for several years to support herself and her family. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Collaborative Piano at the Royal

College of Music, under the tutelage of distinguished professors including Simon Lepper, Nigel Clayton, and Julian Jacobson. Regular coaching sessions with Roger Vignoles have deepened her understanding of vocal repertoire, particularly in Lieder, while she has also explored opera arias and trio works through her studies.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Kaishun finds joy in motherhood, balancing her role as a mother of three with her passion for teaching piano.

Her performances have included Handel’s Imeneo at the Britten Theatre and Brahms’ Clarinet Trio at the Royal College of Music's Chamber Lunchtime concerts. Recently honoured as a recipient of the SongEasle Young Artist

Program 2024, she will begin studying conducting as a second focus under Professor Howard Williams this September.
